Build the Future Now

Imagine buildings destroyed by shells being rebuilt with ramps for inclusive access.

Imagine developers respecting green spaces in the reconstruction process.

Imagine sustainable, livable communities rising from the rubble.

It’s time to meet others who share this vision and are working toward it right now!

The aim of Unlock Ukraine is to reinvent Ukraine, a place where we aspire to live, and to (re)discover inclusive spaces in our cities and villages.

If you have a vision for Ukraine’s future, a project to help the community survive in difficult times, or an idea that should be implemented right now, apply for participation in Unlock Ukraine.

The future depends on the strength of civil society — on each and every one of us.

What is ideathon?

An ideathon is a collective brainstorming or collaboration where specialists from different fields look for ideas and solutions to particular problems at the point where their competencies and domains overlap.

Project Support

At the end of Unlock Ukraine, there will be an open vote for the projects created and presented during the two days, with prizes awarded to the winners.

Selected participants will later be invited to develop their projects in more detail and apply for a mini grant from the Prague Civil Society Centre. Other forms of financial support will also be available.

Who will participate in the ideathon?

Representatives of public initiatives and organisations

Independent public activists

Thinkers, philosophers, sociologists

Architects and urban planners

We will share the complete program later. Here are some topics we will work on

  • Post-war inclusive (re)building
  • Friendly, safe and sustainable environment: green spaces in the city
  • A gender-sensitive vision of public space
  • Protecting social diversity despite the challenges of war
  • Protecting the environment not only from mines, but also from the indifference
  • War Memory: Visibility for All Who Work for Victory
  • The role of (street) art in the creation of public spaces

That's not all!

Participants are invited (but not required) to participate in Mediathon. Together, the participants will develop socially important content in accordance with the topics on the agenda.

Participants will work independently and in teams to create engaging videos, podcasts, and digital illustrations that provoke others to think further. We are sure that no one will be left indifferent to their cause.

Are you interested in Mediathon but unsure?

Not to worry. There will be experts at Unlock Ukraine who will help you and provide you with the necessary equipment.

Please indicate participation in the Mediathon in the appropriate section of the application form.

And there is more!

Unlock Ukraine is not just about work. It is also about making discoveries and getting inspired. There will be plenty of time to visit with like-minded people and initiatives. And you won’t want to miss a special performance from Grozovska band!

Please fill in the application form.We are looking forward to meeting you!
